Nomenclature: C57BL/6-Tg(Grn)33 Mrl
- A BAC containing the mouse Grn gene was engineered a ~30 kb DNA region encompassing the Grn promoter and exons 1-13, but not the neighboring Rundc3a, Slc25a39, and Itga2b genes.
- The BAC construct was microinjected in C57BL6 mice by pronuclear injection.
- Putative transgenic founders were identified by genotyping and bred for germ line transmission with C57BL/6 mice.
- Heterozygous transgenic mice were identified by genotyping.
- Line 10015, C57BL/6-Tg(Grn)42 Mrl, has the lowest expression level of the BAC transgene in the brain (2 fold at mRNA level).
- Line 10016, C57BL/6-Tg(Grn)33 Mrl, has second highest expression level of the BAC transgene in the brain (5-7 fold at mRNA level).
- Line 10150, C57BL/6-Tg(Grn)26 Mrl, has the highest expression level of the BAC transgene in the brain (10-14 fold at mRNA level).

Purchase of this model includes perpetual use rights and a deliverable of four mutant animals at the Murine Pathogen Free™ health standard along with a genotyping protocol. For models which include a recombinase gene or multiple alleles, all alleles will be provided, but individual animals may not contain all mutant alleles.
