Origin
The hDPP4 Mouse was generated in the laboratory of Chien-Te (Kent) Tseng at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. The transgene, comprising CAGG enhancer/promoter, intron sequence, human DPP4 cDNA, and rabbit beta globin poly(A) signal was injected into B6C3F1/J x C57BL/6J zygotes. Taconic maintains the line by mating hemizygous hDPP4 mice to C57BL/6NTac wild type mice.

The hDPP4 Mouse can be used to assess MERS therapeutics
Fig 1. hDPP4 mice were infected with 104 TCID50 of MERS-CoV and then treated 12 h later with either therapeutic antibody m336 or a control antibody m102.4. Mice were monitored daily for A) bodyweight change and B) morbidity and mortality.
