Immunology: Complete Blood Cell Count
Routine evaluation of the cellular components of the immune system is performed by automated determination of the absolute numbers and ratios of various cell types in the peripheral blood i.e. complete blood cell count (CBC).
CBC measures include:
- WBC - White Blood Cell Count
- NEUTRO - Neutrophil
- LYM - Lymphocyte
- MONO - Monocyte
- EOS - Eosinophil
- BASO - Basophil
- RBC - Red Blood Cell Count
- HGB - Hemoglobin
- HCT - Hematocrit
- MCV - Mean Corpuscular Volume
- MCH - Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin
- MCHC - Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration
- RDW - Red Cell Distribution Width
- PLT - Platelet
- MPV - Mean Platelet Volume
Displayed below is a sample graph of how CBC values are presented. In comprehensive phenotypic data packages graphs are interactive. Raw or calculated data and statistics can be seen by clicking on points in the graph.
