Basic morphometric parameters, such as body weight, are informative in evaluating the overall effect of a genetic manipulation or a compound on the development of the entire organism. In addition, this parameter may provide supporting information valuable for the assessment of specific pathological states.
Body weights were taken weekly starting at 7 weeks of age until the end of the study. The mice were singly housed, on a light:dark cycle (6 am: 8 pm) with food and water available ad libitum. The mice were fed a high fat diet, 60% fat (RD 12492).
